Gene Kranz: Tough & Competent
As part of my PR efforts, I successfully managed a media campaign surrounding Gene Kranz, a legendary figure in NASA’s history. Kranz, who was the second-ever chief flight director at NASA and a key player during the Apollo missions, released his new book, Tough and Competent: Leadership and Team Chemistry. In this campaign, I facilitated an exclusive interview with Fox 26 anchor Anthony Antoine, where Kranz reflected on his illustrious career and the ultimate challenges faced during the Apollo 13 mission. The interview highlighted Kranz’s insights on teamwork and leadership, key themes in his book, and served to inspire a new generation to pursue careers in space exploration.
John F. Kennedy Moonshot Lectern
Space Center Houston confirmed the authenticity of the lectern from which John F. Kennedy delivered his historic moon-shot speech, following an extensive investigation initiated after a Dallas-based historian cast doubts on the lectern's legitimacy. When doubts about the lectern's authenticity surfaced, I initiated a comprehensive PR strategy to manage the situation and ensure accurate historical representation. I worked to secure media coverage that emphasized the thoroughness of the investigation, resulting in widespread coverage that not only addressed the initial doubts but also celebrated the successful restoration and return of this iconic lectern to public display.
NASA Astronaut Megan McArthur
At Space Center Houston, I played a pivotal role in promoting STEM education and space exploration by securing interviews with key figures like NASA astronaut and Chief Science Officer Megan McArthur. My efforts focused on highlighting Space Center Houston's mission to connect space with the community and inspire future generations. The initiative secured stories on major news platforms, showcasing the center's strategic role in space exploration and STEM education.
